Patrick worked to include both natural greenery and natural stone Hardscape elements to seamlessly weave a functional and natural looking backyard retreat nestled in the midst of a busy city neighborhood. The Hardscape elements included the use of River Rock instead of more traditional mulch in the planting areas. This helps create the feel of a natural water area. This natural rock was augmented with a decorate paver walkway to ensure slip-resistant and firm walking paths for the owners family. Empire was careful to recommend stone that blended in with the existing color palate of the the home.
The greenery utilized a broad mix of native and adapted shrubs, perennials and cold-hardy Palm trees to add a tropical feel to the project. During the abundant growing seasons around Plano, the family will enjoy vibrant “pops” of color from the perennials.
